Owner Melissa Annan has always had a passion for fashion. She loves her boutique, loves clothes, loves to shop, but most of all, she loves her clients.
In the business since 1979, Melissa started out at her mother’s Annandale boutique, which was named after her father’s Golf and Country Club.
Highly visual with an innate sense of style, she began as a buyer, drawn to such designers as Linda Lundström and Alfred Sung with the inherent belief that quality is the key to any collection.
In 1985, Melissa and her mother, Margaret Annan, opened Garbo’s Boutique in downtown Whitby. After 20 years there, Melissa felt the instinct to move with the changing times, believing that the only way to keep on top of things would be to work at a one-on-one level with her clients and get to know their individual needs first hand. She downsized in 2006, moved Garbo’s to south Ajax and never looked back.
